The project analysed wastewater in over 60 European cities and towns (hereinafter referred to as ‘cities’) including Cyprus to explore the drug-taking habits of the population.
The results provide a valuable snapshot of the drug flow through the cities involved, revealing marked geographical variations. More specifically, the project revealed a picture of distinct geographical and temporal patterns of drug use across European cities.
Nireas International Water Research Center of the Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου | University Of Cyprus has contributed to this effort being the laboratory analyzing the urban wastewater in Cyprus in this European program.
