Pilot-scale Reactors

A cone shape tank for the coagulation-flocculation pre-treatment οf agro-industrial wastewater (Maximum capacity=90 L).

The coagulation-flocculation tank was constructed during the Strategic Infrastructure Project ΝΕΑ ΥΠΟΔΟΜΗ/ΣΤΡΑΤΗ/0308/09 co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) pilot plant (Capacity=10 m3/day)

MBR was constructed during the Strategic Infrastructure Project ΝΕΑ ΥΠΟΔΟΜΗ/ΣΤΡΑΤΗ/0308/09 co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.

Compound parabolic collector (CPC) solar reactor (Maximum capacity=250 L, irradiated volume=85.4 L). Τhis plant is used for the treatment of urban wastewater.

The pilot plant was constructed in the framework of the research program SOLTEC (AEIFORIA/ASTI/0308/01/BIE) co-financed by the European regional development fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.

Compound parabolic collector (CPC) solar reactor (Maximum capacity=100 L, irradiated volume=22 L). Τhis plant is used for the treatment of urban wastewater as well as agro-industrial (i.e. olive mill and winery) wastewater.

The pilot plant was constructed during the research program WINEC (LIFE08 ENV/CY/000455) co-financed by the European Commission’s environmental instrument, LIFE+ program, Environment Policy and Governance.

Pilot scale moving bed biofilm reactor (Maximum capacity=60 L)

Microfiltration (MF) pilot unit (Pore size: 0.2 μm, Materials: 3 polymeric membranes (Microdyn-Nadir) and 1 ceramic membrane (Likuid Nanotek), MF nominal capacity= 2-3 L/min). Τhis plant is used for the treatment of urban wastewater.

MF plant was constructed in the framework of the research program PhotoGraph (ΑΕΙΦΟΡΙΑ/ΦΥΣΗ/0311(ΒΙΕ)/33) co-financed by the European regional development fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.

Ultrafiltration (UF) pilot unit (Pore size: 0.03 μm, Capacity= 1 cubic meters/day). Τhis plant is used for the treatment of urban wastewater.

UF was constructed during the Strategic Infrastructure Project ΝΕΑ ΥΠΟΔΟΜΗ/ΣΤΡΑΤΗ/0308/09 co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.
