Ms Amira Sefelnasr, a master student from the University of Cairo, is now working at the Nireas International Water Research Center, of the University of Cyprus, in the framework of Work Package 5 – Optimization of biogas technology for rural communities in the MENA region, of BIOGASMENA project. Amira is now performing a literature review on the existing Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies on biogas technology. The results of this review will be compared with the results of the Life Cycle Assessment of the household biogas digesters operated in Egypt, that will be performed by Nireas-IWRC research team (Dr. Lida Ioannou, Dr. Despo Fatta-Kassinos, Dr. Spyros Foteinis) in the frame of WP5. Her secondment at the Nireas-IWRC will last until the end of July 2019.
