European monitoring campaign of illicit drugs in urban wastewater.

We are very pleased that our research center Nireas International Water Research Center Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου | University Of Cyprus once again participates in the yearly European monitoring campaign of illicit drugs in urban wastewater. 
The project analysed wastewater in 73 European cities in 20 European countries in March 2018, to explore the drug-taking behaviours of their inhabitants. 
It is interesting to note that methamphetamine, which was traditionally concentrated in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, now appears to be present in Cyprus, the east of Germany, Spain and northern Europe (e.g. Finland and Norway).
