What the editor said about your article:
Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) was applied to evaluate the environmental impact (footprint) of a pilot Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) treating urban wastewater. Five different electricity mixes used for MBR operation were compared in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, France and Norway. The energy source significantly affects overall sustainability of the MBR pilot unit with up to 95 % reduction of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Solar and/or hydroelectricity are the most recommended eco-friendly energy sources to keep the lowest LCA emissions of the MBR.
