Special session "Wastewater Reuse and Contaminants of Emerging Concern" at the SETAC Barcelona 2015

We are very happy to inform you that our session "Wastewater Reuse and Contaminants of Emerging Concern" (under main theme: EC - Identification and Prioritization of Emerging Contaminants) has been accepted for the SETAC Barcelona 2015. The session is a collaboration between COST ACTION NEREUS ES1403, JPI project StARE and other related on-going activities like for example the Norman Association WG5 activities on Wastewater Reuse and Contaminants of Emerging Concern. 

The session will be co-chaired by Despo Fatta-Kassinos and Celia Manaia. 

Topics within the following scientific directions are welcomed: 

  • Microbiome, mobile antibiotic resistome, micropollutants in treated wastewater and in downstream aquatic/terrestrial environments 
  • Uptake and transmission of micropollutants and antibiotic resistant bacteria and resistance genes in crops 
  • Effect-based bioassays required for wastewater reuse schemes
  • Technologies efficient/economically viable to meet the current wastewater reuse challenges 
  • Human health risks associated with wastewater reuse
  • Risk assessment and policy development 

If you wish to submit an abstract be aware that all abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission page, which is now open and can be reached via http://barcelona.setac.eu

The deadline for abstract submission is 26 November 2014.  

Abstracts submitted after that date will not be taken into consideration. Note that people submitting an abstract for a platform presentation, will be asked to submit an extended abstract of 2 pages.

Session descriptions for the time being are only visible in the submission module itself, and there you can indicate the session in which you would like to submit your abstract.
